Sharing information
While this is a membership-based site, any information you share in membership areas (including Forums, Wall – what we might consider ‘public areas’ within the members of the site) is visible to all members and they may take and use that information. Please be careful about what you disclose and do not post any personal information that you expect to keep private.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We ask you to provide your personal information to register for membership of this site. This is retained only for the purpose of maintaining membership of this site. We take reasonable steps to help protect and secure this information but please remember that no data storage or data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. You understand, acknowledge and agree that you provide your personal information at your own risk.
When members create posts, articles or comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the member’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Other members of the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you have registered for a membership and you log in to this site, we will set up several cookies to save your login information. Our site only uses three first party cookies, which means they can only be read by our website and are to allow the site to function correctly and for us to understand how members use the site. There are no third party cookies and no advertising.
Who we share your data with
No-one*. We do not make any use of your data outside of your active membership here. We do not share or sell data to any third party, there is no profiling or remarketing. * The only exception is when required by Law or in the good-faith belief that the action is necessary to conform to an applicable law.
How long we retain your data
If you post anywhere on the forum, your post and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up posts and continue to organize the contributions from all members.
Once you have registered on our site, we store the personal information you provide in your user profile for as long as you remain a member. You can see, edit or delete your personal information at any time (except you cannot change your username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have a membership on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Embedded content from other websites or links to other websites
Articles, posts or pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.) or links to other websites. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
