Technical Talk: Combining touchscreen technology with in vivo electrophysiology

Monash University, Australia

In vivo electrophysiological measures, including oscillatory activity as well as single unit activity have enabled a greater understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying cognitive processing. When combined with touchscreen-based behavioural paradigms in rodents, in vivo electrophysiology can provide insight into task-induced changes in neural activity, however conducting these experiments can be complicated. This talk will provide details on how to perform electrophysiology recordings during touchscreen-based behavioural testing and address some of the challenges which may be encountered.
